About Us

Greyhound Racing in Queensland is entering an exciting new phase with the merger of the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club and Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club, forming the Queensland Greyhound Racing Club (QGRC). QGRC has begin transitioning operations to The Q, a new greyhound racing facility in Yamanto, south-west of Ipswich.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of THE Q venue. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth day-to-day management, maintaining compliance with regulations, leading staff, and delivering exceptional customer service while upholding responsible gambling practices.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

Oversee the daily operations of the gaming area to ensure seamless and efficient service.

Monitor and manage service delivery to maintain high operational standards.

Staff Management

Allocate tasks, manage rosters, and supervise staff to ensure productivity and efficiency.

Provide leadership, training, and ongoing support to foster a positive work environment.

Compliance & Security

Ensure strict adherence to gaming regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies.

Conduct regular inspections to uphold cleanliness, maintenance, and security standards.

Oversee cash management processes, including till reconciliation and banking procedures.

Customer Service & Responsible Gambling

Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere for patrons.

Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.

Implement and monitor responsible gambling practices, identifying and addressing potential issues.

Collaboration & Strategy

Work closely with other departments to coordinate events, functions, and special promotions.

Contribute to the development of operational strategies to enhance overall venue performance.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Reliable and accountable for delivering results.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Duty Manager role, or similar, in the hospitality industry.
  • Must be able to work a flexible roster including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Approved Managers License.
  • RSA/RSG/ RMLV/ First Aid Certificate.
  • Demonstrated ability in TAB operations.
  • In-depth understanding of all operational matters relating to the functioning of a Club.
  • Understanding of the relevant workplace legislation including Liquor Licensing, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), Food Safety and Industrial Relations.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
