About the role

As our Production Manager, you will oversee the success of our egg production operations in southern NSW, managing all aspects of the flock from day-old chicks to laying hens, ensuring their health and optimal egg production. You will implement effective and robust production management strategies across regional sites while maintaining the highest standards of governance and compliance for efficient farm operations. Collaboration with key stakeholders across Pace farms is essential, with your role focusing on monitoring, training, and leadership to ensure the consistent application of ‘Best Practice’ farm management and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you’ll work to develop and refine uniform systems for the Southern NSW sites.

Please note that this role will require regular travel to our sites.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain consistent production and quality KPIs, manage budget, and report regularly to ensure OKRs are met.
  • Implement, educate, train, and inspire Best Practice production principles across our Southern NSW farms.
  • Implement continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and new technologies related to egg production.
  • Develop and maintain food safety, product quality, biosecurity, animal welfare, and OHS policies and procedures in accordance with Pace Farm’s systems of work.
  • Adhere to and train the team regarding company policies and procedures, including HACCP, WH&S and Biosecurity.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and new technologies related to egg production.

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant agricultural degree and at least 5+ years of relevant and related professional experience.
  • Full Australian Work Rights and drivers license and access to a car.
  • Demonstrated expertise in poultry management and an extensive knowledge of poultry husbandry
  • Planning, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Experience in planning, organising, prioritising, and coordinating work in a changing environment.
  • Experience in cross-collaboration with different departments within a company.
  • Availability to work outside of business hours if needed.
