Bookkeeper

Summary:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role will allow you the autonomy to implement efficiency improvements that impact our whole business.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices in the billing system and processing batch payments
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions and expense claims
• Communicate with colleagues, customers and vendors regarding financial matters, managing our accounts inboxes
• Managing fixed asset register
• Assist with payroll processing

Qualifications:

• Tafe or University qualification in an accounting or related field
• 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Xero
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, at pace and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of Australian payroll employer compliance obligations and GST, New Zealand not required but highly regarded
• Understanding of internal controls, record keeping and audit trail requirements
