The Role – This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract
A Sydney Based Role – Please Only Apply If You Currently Live In Sydney, Australia. This is not a remote role.
The Graphic Designer is responsible for supporting the Marketing & Engagement team in developing visually engaging designs that align with MDA National’s brand identity and marketing objectives.
This role involves contributing to the creation of digital and print assets to enhance MDA National’s Member Experience activities that support membership growth, retention and delivery of a best-in-class member experience. This includes:
- Marketing communications
- Social media campaigns
- Website and email assets
- Corporate documentation
- Presentations.
The Graphic Designer will work within the team and cross-functionally to produce high-quality visuals that enhance brand awareness and member engagement.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic creative environment. They will contribute fresh ideas, maintain brand consistency across various platforms, and adapt designs based on feedback. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a creative professional looking to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively and proactively with the marketing and other internal teams to develop high-quality visual content across multiple platforms from initial briefing right through to final output..
- Brainstorm and create visual concepts for campaigns, events, and branding initiatives.
- Stay up to date with design trends, competitor visuals, and emerging tools to keep designs fresh and innovative.
- Ensure all design work aligns with MDA National’s brand guidelines, maintaining a cohesive look and feel.
- Design engaging marketing communications such as social media creative content, digital and print ads, emails, website landing pages, posters, flyers, banners, and other print materials as needed.
- Design website UI elements such as banners and icons — collaborating with developers to enhance user experience.
- Develop visually appealing presentations and pitch decks for internal and external stakeholders.
- Organise and maintain design assets, templates, and version control within the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to ensure easy accessibility and consistent upkeep.
Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Ability to maintain and develop a consistent brand image across all marketing and communication materials.
- Strong understanding of typography and layout for digital and print design.
- Experience designing assets for both online (social media, email, websites) and offline (brochures, posters) platforms.
- High level of accuracy in design execution, with the ability to proof and refine designs before finalisation.
- Knowledge of design thinking methodologies to develop fresh, engaging and visually appealing designs.
- Capable of handling constructive criticism and adapting designs based on feedback.
- •Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines, and shifting priorities with efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teams, understand project briefs, and present creative concepts.
Experience and Qualifications
- 2 – 4 years of professional experience in a graphic design role
- Experience working on a variety of design projects, including branding, marketing campaigns, and digital content creation.
- Experience collaborating with marketing teams to bring visual concepts to life.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, Canva, Jira.
- Portfolio demonstrating a strong design aesthetic and a range of creative projects.
- Willingness to learn and develop, including a positive attitude.
