Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented person with mechanical skills to join our team as a Part-Time Automotive Trainer – Possibly a semi-retired Mechanic looking for something a little extra. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance, coupled with a passion for teaching and developing others in the automotive field. This role involves delivering basic to advanced training, creating / working with brand training materials, and ensuring that all trainees gain the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:

– Training Delivery: Conduct practical and theoretical training sessions for new and existing employees on various automotive systems and repair techniques.

– Assessment: Evaluate trainees’ progress through tests, practical assessments, and feedback sessions, ensuring they meet the required competency levels.

– Mentorship: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to trainees, offering guidance and addressing any technical questions or challenges they may encounter.

– Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of training quality by continuously improving training methods and materials based on feedback and industry advancements.

– Safety Compliance: Educate trainees on industry safety standards and ensure all training activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.

– Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of trainee progress and assessments, and provide reports of progress.

– Collaboration: Work closely with other trainers from market companys and departments to ensure a cohesive training approach and share best practices.

Qualifications:

– Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic in the automotive industry.

Skills:

– Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Ability to convey complex technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.

– Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Technology Use:

– Utilise computers proficiently for online training with market companies, utilising diagnostic tools, managing trainee records, and conducting virtual training sessions if necessary.

Attributes:

– Patience and a passion for teaching and mentoring others.

– Ability to adapt to suit different learning styles / levels.

– Strong organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

– Part-time hours with a flexible schedule.

– Training sessions may be conducted in a Training Room & Workshop

– May require standing for extended periods and performing hands-on demonstrations.
