Residential Structural Steel Estimator/Scheduler

THE ROLE

An exciting new opportunity exists for an experienced Residential Structural Steel Estimator/Scheduler to join the Hallett Group. Reporting to General Manager Steel & Customer Experience (Building Materials), you will work with builders, engineers and internal teams to clarify project scope and requirements.

You will be responsible for

• Reviewing architectural and engineering plans to prepare accurate estimates for structural steel packages

• Preparing detailed take-offs and cost breakdowns

• Developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring delivery timelines are met

• Coordinating with procurement and workshop teams to align scheduling and production

• Managing change orders and updating estimates and schedules as needed

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in residential structural steel estimating and/or scheduling

• Certificate IV building preferred but not essential

• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes

• Proficient in estimating software

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

• A proactive attitude with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
