The role:
We are looking for a Yard Labourer to join our team in Montrose. This position plays a key role in contributing to the day-to-day functionality and operational requirements of the yard.
This is a full-time ongoing position, with an immediate start available. This position is rostered for our day shift which is Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm, with Saturday work also available when the business requires.
Duties will likely include (but not be limited to):
- Use the Forklift to load and upload machines
- Assist in unloading the timber vehicles that come into the yard
- Drive forklift when required to unload trucks and move heavy items around the yard
- Drive Fire Truck around yard for dust suppression if you have a HR License
- Refill Fire Truck after every use ensuring that the water and fuel tanks are left full at the end of the day in case of an afterhours emergency
- Adhering to all safety requirements and promoting a safety-first culture onsite
- Performing pre-start checks on machinery daily, ensuring any issues are flagged to maintenance as soon as possible
You will need:
- Forklift license (essential)
- HR/HC license (desirable)
- Front-end loader ticket (desirable)
- Experience working in a similar position in a high-risk environment
- To complete a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screen and police check as part of our recruitment process
- Driver’s license and right to work in Australia
