Summary:

A computer engineer in the information and communication technology industry designs, develops, and maintains computer systems and software applications. They troubleshoot hardware and software issues, evaluate new technologies, collaborate with other IT professionals, and provide technical support to end-users.

Responsibilities:

  • Design computer systems and networks that meet specific business needs
  • Develop and implement software applications that support company initiatives
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to ensure uninterrupted system availability
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for system improvements
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure the integrity, security, and scalability of computer systems
  • Maintain and enhance existing systems to improve performance and functionality
  • Document system configurations, policies, and procedures for reference and training purposes
  • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting and training
  • Write, test, and debug code to ensure optimal system performance
  • Participate in the development of project plans, budgets, and timelines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining computer systems and software applications
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Linux
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for computer engineering and software development.
