About the role

This full-time position is responsible to set up and operate Moulders and Sawing machines for producing our MDF mouldings, VJ lining boards and any other moulded items that may be required. The position requires the ability to work a mixture of shift patterns, including, day, afternoon and night shifts across Monday – Friday.

This is a full-time position working on a 5-day, 8 hour rotating shift roster;

  • 3-week Rotating Shift Roster Cycle
  • No weekend or Public Holiday work
  • Shift Allowance
  • Overtime available
  • Night: 11:00pm – 7:06am Start 11pm Sunday, Finish 7:06am Friday

    Afternoon: 3pm-11:06pm Start 3pm Monday, Finish 11:06pm Friday

    Day: 7am-3:06pm Start 7am Monday, Finish 3:06pm Friday

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Setting knives, and Operating moulder and sawing machines;
    • Check mould specification and tolerances upon set up and hourly thereafter, and fill in quality check sheets;
    • Adjust cut patterns to minimise waste and maintain quality;
    • Maintain a high level of production, adhering to targets;
    • Communicate with and provide guidance to moulding operators during shift changes;
    • Trouble shooting and performing basic machine maintenance;
    • Train new staff;
    • Ensure you follow the relevant operational procedures and safety guidelines for the equipment you are setting up, including changing tools and Running/Operating of the machines.

    To be successful in the role:

    • Trade qualification: Certificate III in Wood Machining or other similar training;
    • Previous experience with wood working machinery;
    • Experience undertaking machine maintenance, adjustments and minor repairs;
    • Strong organisation skills and ability to work autonomously;
    • Strong attention to detail;
    • Have good communication skills;
    • Be safety conscious, follow safety procedures and be mindful of workplace hazards for yourself and others;
    • Be physically fit to manually handle raw materials;
    • Be reliable and able to work rotating shifts;
    • High Risk Licence – LF advantageous;
    • Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
