The role

To be an integral part of the packaging customer support team, coordinating the management of the day-to-day workload – ensuring completion of daily, weekly and monthly tasks and reporting on workflow. Delivering line management to the customer support team, and providing them with support with packaging compliance members, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of work and a positive customer experience.

The responsibilities (there are more!)

  • Day-to-day management of the packaging customer support team – allocating new members, supporting priority setting in line with internal and regulatory deadlines.
  • Coordinate the delivery of department work, quality checks, and customer audits, in line with internal, customer and regulatory deadlines.
  • Regular status reporting in line with internal and external compliance deadlines to the departmental manager.
  • Facilitate weekly team catch ups – manage agenda, ensure value and visibility of regulatory deadlines and business plan deadlines, facilitate knowledge and skill sharing and sharing outputs with the departmental manager.
  • Establish customer communication templates and coordinate the sending of customer communications across the team.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members, supporting with decision-making, compliance queries, customer service in support of building their knowledge, facilitating cross-team collaboration.
  • Support the team with tasks as required e.g. completing quality checks, cost calculator creation, chasing outstanding data, onsite visits etc.

The person

You will be an experienced and confident leader with excellent communication and motivational skills. You will be highly organised, with the ability to effectively allocate tasks, manage deadlines and oversee multiple priorities. You will be proactive in identifying risks, resolving issues and ensuring the smooth running of the team. You will have strong leadership skills with previous experience in line management and will be confident in coaching and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment to enable team members to develop their skills and expertise.

You will be highly adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will have a keen eye for detail, be proficient in Microsoft Office and will be an excellent communicator with the ability to engage with both internal and external customers, providing clear guidance, support and technical expertise. You will have a strong customer-focused mindset to ensure our services are delivered to the highest standard, while proactively keeping stakeholders informed.

To thrive in this role, you will be passionate and excited to work for a business for good and excited to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be a hands-on, solution-focused team player who works well in a team with a ‘muck in’ approach, being flexible and highly resilient.

If you have previous experience of working in environmental legislation, compliance or regulation, or have extensive experience of working in a customer focused environment then even better. A wicked sense of humour is a bonus too!
