WHV Extension Opportunity

Working on ACLE’s Solar Farm projects may qualify eligible candidates for a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) extension.

Primary Objective

The General Labourer for Solar Farm projects is a pivotal role responsible for supporting the construction and maintenance activities within solar farm installations. Reporting to the Team Leader, this position involves performing a range of tasks that contribute to the smooth and efficient progress of solar projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in assembling and installing components, structures, and systems as required.

• Installation of mounting structures and components to required standard

• Maintain site cleanliness including cleaning the PV field, dispose of any waste materials, clean site utilities

• Follow strict OHS & procedures

• Support team leaders and site supervisors

• Transport and distribute materials, tools, and equipment on-site to support construction activities.

• Maintain records of tasks performed and materials used.

Qualifications & Experience

• Capable of performing manual labour tasks and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Willingness to perform diverse tasks and adapt to changing work requirements.

• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions.

• Awareness of basic safety practices and willingness to adhere to them.

• Basic verbal communication skills to interact with team members and follow instructions.

• Construction white card

• Own transport to travel to and from site.

• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) – Long work trousers, Long-sleeve Hi-vis Shirt, Laced steel toe cap boots

• Able to source own accommodation close to site.

Desirable

• Curiosity about solar energy and sustainable practices.

• Prior experience in construction or general labour roles.

• Basic safety training or certifications would be beneficial.

• Familiarity with basic hand tools and equipment.
