About The Role:
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture (based in Cairns) we are seeking a dynamic and proactive People and Culture Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping our workplace culture by managing essential People functions, including recruitment, onboarding, Learning & Development. You will be responsible for attracting top talent, ensuring a smooth onboarding process, and providing ongoing training opportunities to help our team members grow professionally. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a positive and engaging work environment while supporting the continuous growth of our organisation and its people.
Areas of responsibility:
- Manage and oversee the recruitment process, ensuring timely and effective hiring of top talent.
- Facilitate smooth and efficient onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring they are well-integrated into the company culture.
- Grow and maintain learning and development programs to support employee growth and career progression.
- Maintain and manage HR software systems, ensuring accurate employee data management and system efficiency.
- Foster a positive and engaging work environment through continuous employee feedback and effective people management strategies.
About you:
You are a proactive People and Culture professional with expertise in recruitment, onboarding, and employee development. With strong communication and organisational skills, you thrive in managing multiple tasks and building positive relationships across the company. You are tech-savvy, experienced with HRIS software, and passionate about fostering a supportive and growth-oriented workplace.
Desired Qualifications/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or studying towards).
- Strong understanding and experience of recruitment best practices, including sourcing techniques, candidate assessment methods, and employment law compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in HRIS (preferably Employment Hero, Go1 e-learning platform) and other recruitment software/tools.
- Knowledge of the SCHADS Award whilst not essential would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake and hold Working with Children Check and a NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
