About the Role
Based in Ipswich, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality and Compliance Manager to join our team. This role will bring a high level of subject matter expertise to lead internal and external quality and compliance services in line with best practice standards. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is instrumental in ensuring that the organisation has a sound quality management system aligned with guiding legislation and internal policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities include:
Quality and Compliance Lead
- Oversee and execute the internal audit program and quality audit preparation
- Oversight of Incident management system including reporting and escalation to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and other regulatory bodies
- Reporting to external bodies, including monthly reporting requirements to the NDIS
- Development and maintenance of relevant Quality & Compliance reporting frameworks and templates
- Working with multiple internal stakeholders on initiatives to drive quality and compliance (i.e. support plans, service agreement reviews, medication and BSP reviews training requirements, and system improvements
- Review of policies and procedure to ensure alignment with the NDIS practice standards and other legislative or contractual obligations
- Maintaining a working knowledge of changes to legislative requirements and updating the senior management team and processes as necessary
- Management of Complaints and Feedback ensuring timely address of complaints and relevant corrective actions
- Monthly reporting to the CEO, and Focal Board sub-committee as required
Business Planning and Operations
- Actively participate in developing and achieving Focal’s organisational and strategic goals
- Ensure annual workplan developed and tracked for Quality and Compliance Team in line with organisational goals
- Coordinate operational aspects of team management (e.g. training, workforce planning, recruitment, etc)
- Fulfil the role of leader and mentor for your team (e.g. coaching, mentoring, and developing staff) ensuring regular meetings with the Quality & Compliance Team
- Participant/perform in performance management as required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification or equivalent senior years of experience in this area
- At least 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
- Demonstration capability in developing, implementing and monitoring quality governance.
- Demonstrated evidence of knowledge, capability and leadership in achieving required compliance relating to Australian and State based accreditation and legislation.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Good time management, ability to manage competing demands and a flexible manner.
- Highly motivated with an ability to work independently to carry tasks to completion with limited supervision.
- Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite) and CRMS systems
- Current Paid NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one
- Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
- Current driver’s license and access to a reliable, registered, comprehensively insured vehicle
- Completion of NDIS Online Worker Training Modules (prior to commencement)
