The role
Reporting to the Snr Manager – Operations & Projects, is responsible for providing financial and operational support to ensure optimum performance of the Lending Operations function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the loan book and servicing functions (i.e. collections, arrears management, payout, security discharge), including associated financial reporting.
- Ensure capture of loan data and information systems are accurately maintained to provide accurate and complete data reporting for the Group.
- Focus on the continued development, implementation, and improvement of all lending and compliance related business operations, systems, and processes to drive efficiencies and performance, while minimizing risk.
- Manage the business’s core lending operations systems.
- Coordinate other departments within the organisation to ensure all loan transactions are handled smoothly and records appropriately maintained.
- Reviewing loan documentation and closing loans by signing off on final documents.
- Identify and escalate red flags on borrower’s ability to repay a loan according to the terms of the agreement.
- Track loan payments and delinquencies, and resolve delinquent accounts.
- Monitor loan facility covenant reporting requirements.
- Maintain and monitor loan servicing reporting obligations to warehouse trust facilities.
- Document and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and internal compliance requirements.
- Conduct various assessments and audits to ensure department procedures are achieving accurate and desired results. Implement clean-up procedures and corresponding changes when necessary and as appropriate.
- Communicate with management team to coordinate system and control activities related to loan documentation and monitoring.
- Interact with auditors, loan review, compliance, and examiners to assist in reviews and examinations. Follow up and correct any items addressed and ensure necessary changes or recommendations have been implemented as directed.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Tertiary qualification in finance or related discipline
- Previous experience in the banking, non-bank or finance services industries such as consumer lending, property financing and securitisation
- Working knowledge of the banking industry, Australian housing market, and regulatory environment
- Strong analytical skills and a focus on attention to detail
- Strong numeracy skills
- Customer-centric and solutions focused
- Excellent multi-tasking, time management and communication skills
- Confidence to deal with external stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously and to contribute and work as part of a team
