The Opportunity

  • Casual position with availability across Monday – Friday (split shifts) and term time only.
  • Small groups of students for pick-up and drop-off (max 12 passengers) in a privately operated school bus.
  • Active day-to-day support from School Bus Manager.
  • Work within a team of dedicated bus drivers and bus aides.

So, what does it look like to be a Bus Driver with Autism QLD? The safety of our children is a vital priority, that’s why our bus teams are so important in ensuring the safety and comfort of children with autism during their transportation to and from our Brighton campus.

Your kindness and patience will create a supportive environment for our young learners, fostering a positive experience on their journey. In this role you will assist children with boarding, buckling seat belts, and safely transporting them to and from our Brighton site each day.

While our top priority is finding people who share our genuine passion in supporting our clients, here are a few things the right person will be equipped with: 

  • Light Rigid Driver’s License.
  • Driver Authorisation.
  • Working with Children Blue Card – or able to obtain.
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team environment.
  • Current First Aid qualification and CPR.
