This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a Room Leader role within a supportive, values-driven team that truly values your contributions.
About the Role:
As a Room Leader, you’ll lead the daily operations of your room and support a team of educators to deliver high-quality care and education for children aged 0 to 5. Your role will involve guiding curriculum planning, fostering a collaborative team culture, and creating a warm, engaging learning environment that supports the developmental needs of every child. You will have opportunities for ongoing professional development, mentoring, and leadership growth—while making a real difference in the lives of children and families.
As a Room Leader, you will:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of developmentally appropriate learning programs.
- Support, mentor, and guide your team of educators to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating space that supports children’s exploration and growth.
- Monitor and document children’s progress and development, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Oversee daily routines, transitions, and team collaboration to create a calm, consistent environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including child protection, health and safety, and the National Quality Framework (NQF).
- Participate in and encourage professional development to support team growth and reflective practice.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a confident and compassionate Diploma Qualified Educator who is ready to take the next step into leadership or who already thrives in a Room Leader role. The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
- Have a solid understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and relevant legislative requirements.
- Demonstrate experience or potential in leading a team within an early childhood setting.
- Be a proactive, positive role model who fosters a culture of respect, support, and open communication.
- Be passionate about creating enriching, play-based learning experiences that meet the individual needs of each child.
- Show exceptional organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain current First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis training, and hold a valid Working with Children Check.
