About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out effective Maintenance, repair of pumping equipment Including Centrifugal, Submersible, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, VMS, electrical and diesel Driven.

Key Responsibilities:

•Accountability for the effective maintenance, repair of equipment ensuring delivery schedules are met in a timely manner

•Carry out engine diagnosis, mechanical repairs and servicing

•Assessment and inspection of returned fleet for damage

•Assess and scope repairs and parts

•Accurate and timely recording of servicing information

•Effective communication on a day-to-day basis to ensure activities are clearly understood by all

•Connection and testing of pumping equipment

•Ensuring timely completion for all inspection, testing, safety, delivery and purchasing paperwork is completed in full

•Ad hoc servicing, installation and repairs in the field as required

•Be an effective conduit for customer relations and support, particularly whilst on site

•Other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• Relevant Trade Certificate

• Ability to follow workshop manuals.

• Experience in diesel engine and pump maintenance/repairs

• Ability to carry out light machining lathe work.

• Experience in assessing and coping required repairs & parts.

• Experience in rebuilding various modes of pumping equipment.

• Ability to read, interpret and record pressure gauge readings.

• Use of measuring equipment, i.e., rulers, feeler gauges, dial test indicators

• Experience in aligning pump ends to drive systems.

• Organisational and multi-tasking skills

• Able to work unsupervised.

Desirable:

•Experience in Mining, Construction or Heavy Industries

•Experience in the rental industry

•Experience in diesel engine rebuilds.

•Forklift Ticket

•Working at heights

•Senior first aid
