About the Roles

Mechanical Fitters – Workshop & Site-Based

You will be involved in varied mechanical works including projects, shutdowns, routine maintenance, and installations across key industrial sites such as QAL, BSL, RTAY, and QMAG.

Leading Hand – Workshop

You will lead a small, hands-on team delivering workshop-based builds, repairs, and component assembly. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure jobs are completed to standard, on time and safely.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Assemble, install, and repair mechanical equipment and systems
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Identify and troubleshoot faults with a focus on preventative solutions
  • Supervise (for Leading Hand) or collaborate effectively within a team
  • Maintain safety standards and contribute to a clean, compliant workplace
  • Complete job records and documentation accurately

What You Will Need

  • Trade Qualification – Mechanical Fitter
  • Strong safety-first mindset
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • High attention to quality and detail
  • Leading Hand role: previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment medical and site inductions (including Blue/Yellow Medipass and Coal Board Medical if required)
