Role Summary

As the Marketing Coordinator, you are a highly motivated and creative self-starter with a passion for marketing, communications, events and all things innovation. As an active and engaged member of the Marketing Department, you are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, have excellent attention to detail and can use your communication skills to connect with the innovation community.

The Marketing Coordinator will provide marketing support across a wide range of departmental responsibilities, taking ownership of marketing projects and supporting the marketing, communications and event team members in achieving project goals and deadlines. The Marketing Coordinator will support corporate websites, the maintenance of online resource tools, social media efforts, and event planning and execution. 

This is an 8-16 week opportunity beginning May 2026. This role will work collaboratively with all departments and teams within Innovation Factory and reports to the Director of Marketing. 

This position is available thanks to funding from Canada Summer Jobs, which requires that eligible candidates be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old and either a Canadian Citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.

Rate – $17.60/hour 

At the end of your work term, you are required to complete the Canada Summer Job Survey. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the marketing team
  • Design and update digital content (event banners, social media visuals, presentation decks, etc.) in a way that aligns with Innovation Factory’s established brand identity and guidelines
  • Support the development and ongoing efforts of our website
  • Work closely with other Marketing team members to support the curation and creation of social media content, including campaigns, promotional packages, and content calendars
  • Assist with the creation and/or circulation of other online and/or print promotional materials.
  • Assist the marketing team and other departments with local events for clients and community members
  • Actively participate in team and organization meetings, and maintain strong and effective communication with the team through a variety of inter-team software tools, including Slack, Zoom and G-Suite
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Be enrolled in or have recently completed a relevant post-secondary education, College diploma or University degree (For example: Marketing, Communication, Design, etc.)
  • Web design skills and knowledge of WordPress
  • Strong copywriting skills (marketing language)
  • Strong visual design skills (digital and print)
  • Social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and social media management tools)
  • Writing email campaigns (Constant Contact)
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Working Conditions

  • 5 days per week; 37.5 hours per week, regular daytime business hours are between 9 am EST and 5 pm EST.  
  • Opportunity for a hybrid work model, allowing some remote work
  • Some localized travel is required.
