Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Gift Shop Manager to oversee our busy hospital gift shop in Toronto. This role is essential in providing a welcoming shopping experience for patients, visitors, and staff, while managing inventory, staff, and daily operations. The Gift Shop Manager will play a key role in enhancing the hospital’s environment and supporting its mission through effective retail management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the gift shop, including staffing, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Supervise and train gift shop staff to ensure high levels of service and product knowledge.
  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to maximize sales and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock audits.
  • Collaborate with hospital departments to promote special events and seasonal merchandise.
  • Handle financial transactions, including cash management and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the shop.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in retail management or business is a plus.
  • Previous experience in retail management or customer service is preferred, but entry-level candidates are welcome.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic financial acumen and experience with point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
