Job Title: Yard Labourer

Location: Saint John, NB

Shift/Hours: 9 :00am to 5:00pm

Pay Rate: $16.50/Hour

Job Information :

We are seeking Yard Labo u rers to join our client’s team at their hardware store!

As a Yard Labo u rer, you will play a key role in maintaining smooth and efficient yard operations. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading materials, organizing inventory, assisting customers, and keeping the yard clean and orderly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, ensuring that products are displayed properly and safely

• Regularly inspect the yard for any hazards or safety concerns, addressing them promptly

• Load and unload products and materials, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper storage

• Assist in restocking shelves and displays, keeping track of inventory levels and notifying supervisors of low stock

• Greet and assist customers in locating products, providing knowledgeable recommendations and excellent customer service

• Answer customer inquiries and help resolve any issues or concerns they may have

• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items, moving materials, and operating yard equipment

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Previous experience in a labo u r-intensive role, particularly in a retail or hardware environment, is preferred but not required

• Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs ) and perform physical tasks throughout the workday

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others

• Basic communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus

• Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment

• A valid driver’s license is preferred for potential delivery tasks or yard operations

• CSA Approved Steel-Toe Boots

• PPE such as: Gloves, glasses, long sleeve shirts
