Welder/Fitter – MIG

Job Title: Welder/Fitter – Custom Metal Fabrications

Location: Burlington, Ontario

Rate of Pay: $35.00 /hour to start

Shifts:Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-4:45pm & Friday, 7:30am-3:45pm (44h/week)

Job Type: Temporary to permanent

Our client in Burlington is hiring for an experienced Skilled Welder/Fitter or Fabricator. Their company has provided custom welding and fabrication services since 1960! This is a long-term opportunity with a busy fabrication shop with lots of room to grow. We are looking for candidates with at least 5 years of recent welding experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create Custom Fabrications from drawings
• Plan/fit parts to meet required configurations and positions for welding
• Frequent MIG and TIG Welding, on Steel, Stainless, and Aluminum
• Use of hand and power tools, and other machining equipment
• Use of various finishing techniques as required for specific jobs
• Complete quality inspections
• Use of forklifts and overhead cranes to move product on occasion
• Other general duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience required in similar fabricating role required
• 5+ years of MIG welding experience required
• Experience with TIG, Stainless and Aluminum preferred
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Experience in reading, interpreting, and understanding shop drawings
• Ability to produce high quality work and work under minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven time management, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Works well with others and aid peers when needed
