JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent participates in the planning, coordination, and execution of capital projects within Zone 1B of the Vitalité Health Network. As part of major expansion and renovation projects at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, as well as other infrastructure initiatives, the incumbent manages a project portfolio valued at between $10 million and $25 million annually. They coordinate infrastructure projects from design to completion; monitor the budgets, schedules, and scope of projects under their responsibility; collaborate with users, consultants, contractors, and government partners; participate in identifying needs, planning work, and monitoring execution; prepare progress reports; ensure necessary follow-ups; and act as the Vitalité Health Network representative for projects managed by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, project management, or a related field;
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in delivering large-scale projects, particularly in the hospital sector;
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Experience managing projects valued at over $50 million is considered an asset;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is considered an asset;
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite and knowledge of other software used within the Network;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project software;
  • Knowledge of issues related to construction projects in hospitals;
  • Specific expertise in large-scale construction projects carried out in hospital settings;
  • Ability to manage and oversee all phases of a project;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Leadership, initiative, sound judgment, and strong decision-making and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong organizational skills, efficient time management, and the ability to establish priorities;
  • Ability to identify risks, constraints, and appropriate solutions based on the context;
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of the general operations of a hospital environment and strategies to minimize the impacts associated with construction projects;
  • Administrative skills in document management, meeting preparation, writing, and the development of work and communication tools;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
