Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Shift/Hours: casual Monday to Friday.

Shifts can vary; you must be flexible to work either 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Pay Rate: $30.62/hr.

We are seeking an RPN to assist at a Mississauga pain management clinic on a casual basis. This role is expected to start as soon and may offer shifts based on the clinic’s patient volume and staffing needs. This is a great opportunity for a reliable nursing professional looking for flexible work while supporting a busy clinical environment.

Job Duties

  • Providing direct nursing care to specified patients, including supportive care and administering prescribed treatments.
  • Performing nursing assessments and triaging patient care needs for both new and ongoing patients.
  • Educating patients, families, and significant others, and serving as a resource for students, healthcare professionals, and the public.
  • Offering family support as needed, including making referrals and providing counselling.
  • Following established policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, and adhering to safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Training and guiding nursing and support staff in clinical activities; may participate in research and related activities.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain emotional stability in situations involving human suffering, emergencies, and stress.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of medical treatment procedures, facilities, and equipment.
  • Understanding of supportive care principles and techniques for patients.
  • Ability to educate patients and families about diseases and provide instructions on proper care and treatment.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to perform nursing assessments and patient triage.
  • Skills in patient assessment and referral.
  • Diploma in Nursing.
  • BLS Certificate or First Aid Certificate.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Successful completion of a background check.
