Description

Questrade Future Leaders Internship Program (QFLIP) – Product Management Intern

We’re looking for our future leaders. Could it be you? At Questrade Financial Group (QFG), we are everything a traditional financial institution is not. You will be constantly moving forward, bringing the future of fintech into existence, as part of a collaborative team that cares deeply about helping each other and driving our mission of helping our customers become much more financially successful and secure. We give Canadians a real alternative to traditional banks and brokerages: investing, banking, mortgages, and real estate, built to help millions of Canadians take control of their own money.

We are looking for ambitious and driven individuals interested in exploring a career in strategy and product management, who have an inclination for data-driven problem solving and a bias for action. Innovation is at the heart of Questrade’s success, and our future leaders will be highly entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity and complexity to challenge the status quo, and able to execute their vision with high attention to detail.

A Bit About QFLIP: The Questrade Future Leaders Internship Program (QFLIP) is a 14-week internship running from May to August 2027, open to students currently in their 3rd or 4th year of undergrad.

As a Product intern, you will join our Product team, where you’ll help define, build, and ship products that improve Canadians’ financial lives. You’ll work alongside product managers to identify customer problems, translate these problems into clear specs and roadmaps, and partner with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to bring features from concept to launch. As part of our 2027 intern cohort, you will have a dedicated manager and mentor and connect with product managers, engineers, designers, other interns, and leaders across the company.

What’s in it for you? During your 14 weeks with our Product team, you will:

  • Exclusive mentorship: Receive 1:1 mentorship and coaching from a dedicated manager and product mentors to gain invaluable insights.

  • Meaningful projects: Prototype and test early ideas with customers and engineers to validate direction before the team commits to a build, contributing directly to high-priority features.

  • Cross-functional exposure: Work directly with engineers and designers to ship features on the Questrade platform.

  • Build relationships: Connect with a tight-knit cohort of interns, product managers, engineers, designers, and leaders across the company.

  • Unmatched experience: Develop an understanding of the business and participate in key strategic decision-making to generate value and shape the enterprise’s future direction.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partnering closely with engineering, design, and data teams to scope, build, and ship products that solve real customer problems.

  • Conducting customer interviews and user research to understand needs, validate problems, and test whether a solution works before committing to building it.

  • Translating customer and market insights into clear product requirements, prototypes, and concepts the team can test and learn from.

  • Sizing market opportunities and assessing the competitive landscape to identify improvements to existing products as well as net-new products worth building.

  • Helping prioritize the roadmap and make trade-off decisions on what to build next, balancing customer value, effort, and business impact.

  • Building functional prototypes and proofs-of-concept (using low-code/no-code tools) to validate technical feasibility before committing engineering resources.

  • Working directly with engineers on technical details, including APIs, data models, and system constraints, to make informed product decisions.

Previous interns have worked on high-impact projects like Custom Indexing, Questrade Pro, Equity Engine, and Balance Sheet.

So are YOU our next QFLIP Member? You are if you…

  • Are currently in your 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate program (available May to August 2027).

  • Have experience in financial services or can bring learnings from other fast-paced, customer-centric, and digital-forward industries.

  • Have experience or an interest in Product management and optimization, UX / product design, User research, Rapid prototyping, Experimentation / A/B testing, Data analysis, Product thinking and problem solving, Product analytics, Product operations, Product marketing, or Software Engineering.

  • Care deeply about what you do and about improving financial health for Canadians.

  • Are hands-on and learn by doing: happy to build, test, iterate your way to an answer.

  • Are excited to solve ambiguous problems with a collaborative team, staying curious to keep learning whether it’s a new technology, a customer’s domain, or a corner of the product you haven’t touched.

  • Are a strong communicator who asks great questions, collaborates well with others, and is excited to learn, get feedback, and grow as a product manager.

  • Have technical skills (coding, scripting, working with data or APIs) and are comfortable using them to build, test, and validate ideas yourself.

  • Have used AI tooling for both personal productivity and development projects.

Note: If you come from a technical or engineering background and haven’t done formal product work before, we strongly encourage you to apply. If product management is newer to you, that’s okay—prior experience isn’t a requirement. We’ll teach you what you need along the way.
