JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time role based in Bouctouche, NB. The primary language of work is English.

Are you a skilled technician with experience in both mechanical maintenance and industrial controls? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your expertise keeps operations running efficiently? Kent Homes is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preventative Maintenance – Perform preventative maintenance inspections and corrective actions on mechanical equipment.
  • Mechanical Troubleshooting – Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
  • CNC Equipment – Diagnose and repair CNC machines (router, multifunction bridge, etc.).
  • PLC & Controls – Troubleshoot PLC systems and controllers.
  • Continuous Improvement – Participate in safety, maintenance, process, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration – Collaborate with high-performing teams to resolve process-related issues.

Technical Work – Execute tasks such as gearbox rebuilds, belt splicing, bearing replacements, motor alignments, pneumatic and hydraulic system maintenance, and fabrication projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education – Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright certification with a community college/technical diploma preferred.

Experience – 3-5 years of trade experience; experience with CNC and automated equipment is considered an asset.

Technical Skills – Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation; ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics; basic understanding of PLC ladder logic; hands-on experience with CNC machine controls.

Core Competencies – Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; self-starter with sound decision-making skills.

Additional Skills – Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is an asset; electrical/automation aptitude and experience is considered an asset.
