Title: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Brampton, ON
Wage: $28-$32/hr based on experience
Shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Shifts available: Monday – Friday
Our client is looking for a highly organized and experienced Logistics Coordinator with a background in freight, 3PL operations, transportation, and dispatch. The successful candidate will oversee the coordination of domestic and cross-border shipments, ensuring freight moves efficiently while delivering exceptional service to customers and carrier partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule LTL, FTL shipments by securing reliable carrier capacity.
- Manage freight movements from initial pickup through final delivery, ensuring all milestones are met.
- Monitor shipments in real time, providing updates to customers and carriers
- Communicate with carriers, shippers, and receivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Resolve transportation issues such as service delays, appointment changes, accessorial charges, and routing concerns.
- Working with upwards of 2500 carriers
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with carrier partners to ensure consistent service.
- Prepare freight quotations and pricing support for the sales team.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, transportation documentation, and billing information within the transportation management system.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and contribute to business growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in freight brokerage logistics, transportation coordination, and dispatch.
- Hands-on knowledge of domestic LTL, FTL, and cross-border freight operations.
- Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. transportation routes, transit times, and carrier networks.
- Proven ability to negotiate with carriers and manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Proficiency with Excel and Outlook.
- Customer-focused with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and carriers
