Hours: Variable shifts (12 hours, Shift Work, Rotating; Days, Nights, Weekends)

Salary: CGHSL29 (CAD30.16 – CAD33.22 per hour) plus applicable Labrador Allowance

Qualifications:

? Graduation from high school or equivalency

? Graduation from an approved LPN Educational program.

? Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL)

? Successful completion of Breastfeeding Essentials or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by Employer)

? Knowledge of computer skills and an ability to work with computer programs is an asset;

? Completion of the Health Assessment Course. ? Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR)

? Completion of Gentle Persuasive Approach Course (GPA) or willingness to complete

? Completion of, or willing to complete MOAB training.

? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

? Completes nursing assessment consistent with LPN scope of practice

? Participates in the development, revision, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans

? Provides safe, competent, and ethical nursing care and make decisions within the LPN scope of practice

? Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient plan of care

? Practices independently according to professional and organizational standards

? Documents according to professional and organizational standards

? Maintains competency and updates knowledge by availing of educational opportunities

? Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities

? Represents nursing on various committees such as Nursing Unit Council and other committees as deemed necessary

? Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team

? Keeps current with changes by monitoring communications (i.e. verbal, e-mail, communication book etc.

? Administers medication

? Provide support to Acute Care as Required

? Other related duties as required.
