Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

Location: Bedford, NS

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

The Human Resources Assistant will support recruitment coordination, administrative tasks, and employee documentation. This role involves posting job ads, reviewing resumes, pre-screening candidates, completing reference checks, verifying safety and training certificates, and maintaining organized records.

This position requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable handling confidential information, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Post job ads and assist with recruitment coordination
• Review applicant resumes and pre-screen candidates
• Conduct reference checks as required
• Verify safety and training certificates
• Assist with assessing candidate competencies based on role requirements
• Maintain organized employee, candidate, and recruitment records
• Prepare recruiting updates and reports for the team
• Act as a point of contact for candidates during the selection process
• Maintain professional candidate communication throughout the recruitment process
• Support HR best practices and internal recruitment procedures
• Perform other HR and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Previous administrative, recruitment, or Human Resources experience considered an asset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong data entry and computer skills
• Able to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
