Job Title: General Labour (Events)

Location: Hamilton, ON

Shifts:Afternoons, Evenings, Nights – Casual, ON-CALL

Pay: $17.60/hour

General Labour associates are responsible for the setup and teardown of event spaces in downtown Hamilton (athletics, musical, and professional events). This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that ensures events run smoothly and efficiently. Associates must be prepared for last-minute scheduling requests. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK CASUAL, ON-CALL SHIFTS WITH FLEXIBLE AVAILABLILTY ON SHORT NOTICE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up event spaces including staging, furniture, equipment, and signage according to client specifications.
• Break down and restore spaces to their original condition after events.
• Lift, move, and handle materials safely (up to 50 lbs when required).
• Collaborate with event supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
• Follow all safety protocols, including wearing steel-toed safety boots/shoes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a general labour role.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Available for flexible, on-call shifts.
• Able to lift 10-50lbs during a shift.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Able to meet uniform requirements (plain black shirt and pants, CSA Safety shoes).
