Job Title : Forklift Operator – Counterbalance (Stand-Up)

Location: Cambridge, ON

Pay Rate: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Shift: Days and/or Afternoon

We’re looking to add to our pool of warehouse candidates, an experienced Counterbalance (Stand-Up) Forklift Operator to support warehouse operations in a busy manufacturing environment. This role involves material handling, inventory support, and working closely with production teams to keep operations running smoothly and safely.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the warehouse. This role requires strong attention to detail, comfort with physical work, and a solid understanding of warehouse processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a stand-up counterbalance forklift to move pallets, materials, and finished goods.

• Load and unload trucks and organize inventory throughout the warehouse.

• Complete order picking, shipping, and receiving tasks using paper-based inventory tracking and spreadsheets.

• Assist with inventory counts and support the future transition to a digital Warehouse Management System (WMS).

• Perform routine forklift inspections and report maintenance needs.

• Handle heavy materials safely using proper techniques and equipment.

• Work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely material flow.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience operating a stand-up counterbalance forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.

• Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.

• Experience using manual inventory processes (paper forms, spreadsheets) is required.

• Familiarity with WMS platforms is an asset.

• Basic mechanical knowledge related to forklift care and operation.

• Solid understanding of warehouse safety practices and OHSA requirements.

• Ability to lift and move heavy materials in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong organization, teamwork, and attention to detail.

• Valid forklift certification is required.
