Forklift – Crossdock

Job Title : Forklift – Cross dock

Location: Cambridge, ON

Shift/Hours:Tuesday to Saturday – 11 pm start

Pay Rate:$22.00/hr. + $1.00 /hr. shift premium + $2.00 /hr. Friday premium

We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Cross Dock Forklift Operator to join our client’s transportation team on a Tuesday to Saturday schedule. This role operates within a fast-paced cross dock environment and requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork. The successful candidate will take on Lead Hand responsibilities during the Friday night shift, supporting operations, assisting with workflow coordination, and helping ensure the team meets operational targets and departure timelines

Job Description

• Use of counterbalance forklift
• Load and off load freight at a steady pace. Ensure weight distribution
• Monitor and record damages and record quantities
• Skid product, weigh and cube freight
• Act as a liaison on Friday night shift in the absence of operations team
• Clerical /paperwork as required

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of forklift experience within a transportation or warehouse

• Previous experience operating counterbalance forklifts

• Lead Hand, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred

• Experience within LTL, transportation, or high-volume freight operations considered a strong asset

• Strong understanding of loading/unloading procedures and freight handling practices

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

• Ability to lead by example and support team productivity during Friday night operations

• Reliable attendance and ability to work the required Tuesday to Saturday schedule
