Job Summary

The Mental Health and Addictions Program of NL Health Services (NLHS) – Eastern Urban Zone is seeking a 0.5 FTE salaried General/Family Physician to provide medical support to individuals engaged in the Eating Disorder Continuum (EDC) of services. The EDC includes both inpatient and outpatient components and offers specialized care to individuals (ages 18 years and older) experiencing eating disorders.

This physician will work as an integral member of a skilled interdisciplinary team, delivering care aligned with evidence-based guidelines and recovery-oriented principles. The team employs a shared care approach to treatment, emphasizing collaboration with existing primary care providers wherever possible. The intent of this model is to avoid the development of dual physician roles. Accordingly, the EDC physician will assume a coordinating and consultative role in most cases, stepping into direct care responsibilities only when clinical needs or case complexity requires.
