Title : Equipment Installer Technician

Pay: $21.00 to $24.00 Hourly (Based on Experience)

Shift: Monday-Friday, Day Shift

Location: Ottawa West

We are currently recruiting for a Vehicle Upfitting Technician on behalf of a well-established and innovative client specializing in vehicle customization and fleet upfitting in the Ottawa area. This organization is a recognized leader in the industry, providing complete vehicle solutions including ladder racks, shelving systems, security equipment, electrical components, and custom installations.

This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and working as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete the assembly and installation of various vehicle equipment, including ladder racks, shelving units, and other upfitting components.
  • Work on and around high-voltage electric vehicles while adhering to all safety standards and procedures.
  • Install roof-mounted equipment and accessories requiring the use of ladders and elevated work positions.
  • Read and interpret specifications, drawings, and installation instructions.
  • Regularly use hand tools and power tools, including jigsaws, table saws, and mitre saws.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities as required.
  • Communicate any damaged products, installation concerns, or safety issues to management.
  • Maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Valid G Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Driver’s Abstract dated within 30 days of application.
  • Minimum 1 year of automotive, mechanical, manufacturing, construction, or related technical experience.
  • Experience safely operating power tools, including jigsaws, table saws, and mitre saws.
  • Comfortable working around high-voltage electrical systems and electric vehicles.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Physically capable of standing, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely and follow all company safety procedures.
