With a geographical area encompassing more than half the total land mass of the island, the Central region extends from Charlottetown in the east, Fogo Island in the north, Harbour Breton in the south, to Baie Verte in the west. Central Zone provides a variety of primary, secondary, long-term care, community health, and other enhanced secondary services.

James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical and procedural settings. The anesthesiologist will administer general, regional, and local anesthesia, continuously monitor patients’ vital signs during procedures, manage airways, and respond promptly to medical emergencies or complications. Post-operatively, the role involves overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia, managing pain and anesthesia-related side effects, and ensuring safe transitions of care. Additional duties may include participation in pain management services, emergency response, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching or mentoring, depending on department needs.
