Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our health and safety team in Edmonton, Alberta. This contractual, casual role is essential for providing high-quality therapeutic services to clients, helping them achieve optimal independence and quality of life. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assessing and treating individuals with physical, emotional, and developmental challenges, ensuring they receive the best possible care tailored to their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical and mental health to determine their therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving clients’ functional abilities.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including exercises, adaptive equipment recommendations, and education on daily living skills.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure holistic care.
  • Monitor and document clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Educate clients and their families about therapy processes and strategies for continued improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest practices and advancements in occupational therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Alberta.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in health and safety.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Knowledge of current occupational therapy practices and evidence-based interventions.
  • Proficient in using assessment tools and therapeutic equipment.
