We are seeking a highly skilled US Tax Manager to join our dynamic accountancy team in Richmond Hill, Ontario. This permanent, full-time role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with US tax regulations while providing strategic tax planning and advisory services to our clients. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in tax management and a strong understanding of the complexities of US tax law, contributing to the overall success of our firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of US tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Provide expert advice on US tax compliance and planning strategies to clients.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to ensure adherence to current tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify tax-saving opportunities and implement effective tax strategies.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Prepare and review tax provisions and ensure accurate reporting in financial statements.
  • Stay updated on changes in US tax legislation and assess their impact on clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or CPA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in US tax compliance and advisory roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
  • Strong knowledge of US tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
