Therapeutic Foster Caregiver Family

Open Your Heart, Transform a Life

At Nightwind Treatment Centre, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and discover their potential. Many of the youth we support have experienced trauma, loss, or instability. Our role is to create safe environments where healing and growth can begin.

Our Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) Families are central to this work. By opening your own home, you provide stability, care, and guidance for youth who need supportive relationships to move forward.

As a Therapeutic Foster Caregiver, you become part of a dedicated Therapeutic Team, working alongside clinicians, cultural advisors, and program staff to support youth with complex needs in a family-based setting.

What You’ll Do

Therapeutic Foster Caregiver Families provide a safe and supportive home environment for youth in the program by:

  • Supporting daily routines including school, recreation, life skills, and healthy sleep
  • Helping youth manage emotions and resolve conflict
  • Supporting cultural learning and therapeutic activities
  • Participating in treatment planning with the Nightwind clinical team
  • Attending medical and other appointments as required
  • Maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment
  • Completing required documentation and communication with the treatment team
  • Your home would be licensed for 1–2 youth and operate as part of Nightwind’s accredited treatment program.

Work Environment

Therapeutic Foster Care takes place in the caregiver family’s own home, supported by a professional treatment team.

  • Trauma-informed training and ongoing support
  • Access to therapists and cultural advisors

  • A training completion bonus
