Pipefitter – Journeyman

Summary:

The Pipefitter will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fittings, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings for short and long term projects. They will use hand and power tools to cut, bend, and join pipes and fittings with brazing and welding equipment, as well as testing piping systems for leaks and ensuring they meet the required specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Cut, thread and bend pipes to required specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Assemble and install valves, fittings and pipework systems.
  • Inspect, test and troubleshoot piping systems to detect malfunctions.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance work on piping systems as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of work done and materials used.
  • Follow blueprints and building codes to install and maintain plumbing systems.
  • Keep tools and equipment clean and in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Certification
  • Previous work experience as a pipefitter in the construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building codes.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment.
  • Good knowledge of hand and power tools used in pipefitting.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
