Since establishing our Canadian business in 2022, we’ve delivered mission-critical work for clients in financial services, travel, and utilities. We’re now looking for a foundational leader to help us build the next phase of our Canadian story.
The Role
This is an opportunity for a senior technical leader who is energized by the prospect of building something significant. We are looking for a powerhouse in technology to join our Canadian team. This is a role for a leader who embodies our ethos: someone who can Make (deliver brilliant working systems), represents our Mind (provides deep strategic and technical depth), and leads with Heart (understands that care is an outcome).
You will be instrumental in leading Kablamo Canada through its next phase of growth. You will represent our technical credibility, driving sales engineering and solutioning. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is excited to stay at the forefront of advancing tech, understands the nuances of consulting and client management, and is ready to embrace the risk and reward of being a pivotal member of our Canadian leadership team.
Senior Technical Leads are part of Kablamo’s extended leadership group. The leadership group is responsible for the strategic direction of Kablamo, for attracting and retaining the best talent in our industry and for guiding our journey and growth. You will partner with the Engineering Manager, who oversees client delivery, defines and optimizes our methodologies, and guides our engineering culture and career development.
Senior Technical Leads are expected to pursue a dual-track journey of building both their own, and Kablamo’s, brand and market awareness through their thought leadership. We pride ourselves on having the sharpest thinkers in the cloud industry and we are recognized as such by customers and partners, including Google and AWS. We believe in sharing our knowledge and in creating unique positions of thought leadership, in areas such as cloud, culture and artificial intelligence.
Senior Technical Leads are required to provide technical mentoring and coaching to our engineers and our customers (architecture, craft, advancing technologies). Our Leads are the living and breathing role models for our less experienced engineers, all of whom are thirsty for knowledge and growth!
Responsibilities
1. MAKE: Engineering That Delivers
- Lead the delivery of mission-critical software for our client engagements, ensuring the systems we build perform under pressure and get adopted by real humans.
- Roll up your sleeves to solve deep technical problems, guide architectural decisions, and unblock your team to ensure they are building software they are proud of.
- Own the technical outcomes, from discovery through to production, ensuring we deliver working systems, not just strategy decks.
2. MIND: Intellectual Horsepower
- Serve as the technical authority for Kablamo Canada, wielding data, AI, and modern engineering with strategic depth.
- Partner with clients to cut through the hype, understand their core problems, and formulate technical solutions that deliver measurable impact.
- Support the pre-sales cycle to shape proposals with technical credibility in the proposed solution and approach, and define functional estimates grounded in real-world delivery.
- Represent the Kablamo brand with executive presence, operating effectively in executive circles and with strategic partners like AWS and Google.
3. HEART: Care is an Outcome
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture where care for each other and for our clients’ problems is a tangible outcome.

Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in technology, with at least 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
- Deep and broad technical expertise; you are a credible “powerhouse” across multiple domains (e.g., cloud architecture, data platforms, modern application development).
- Demonstrable experience in sales engineering: you can architect solutions, estimate work, and help write compelling, credible proposals.
- A background in a consulting or software engineering services environment, with a deep understanding of client engagement and delivery.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineering teams. People want to work with you.
- A genuine passion for technology that extends beyond the workday. You have exposure to modern AI concepts and a desire to always be learning.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. You can build trust with everyone from junior engineers to the C-suite.
- An entrepreneurial spirit: you are excited by the prospect of building a business.
- Bonus Points for
- Hands-on technical acumen. You still write code or build things in your spare time.
- A track record of sharing your knowledge with the community (e.g., blog posts, conference talks).
- GCP, AWS, MSFT, Anthropic or other professional-level certifications.
