Meet Annie, our esteemed Sales and Marketing Manager at The Sands Torquay. With two decades of rich experience in Tourism Sales and Marketing, Annie’s journey in this field began with her love for hotels and resorts. She honed her skills at William Angliss Tourism and is also a proud holder of a Marketing Degree.
Annie is passionate about promoting The Sands Torquay – a magnificent destination resort that showcases golf, conference facilities, delectable food, a health club, and comfortable accommodation. The icing on the cake? It’s all located on the picturesque Surf Coast, right in Annie’s beloved hometown!
If you’re looking for a book recommendation, Annie swears by “Where the Crawdads Sing”. Outside of her professional life, she cherishes spending time with her family, playing golf, and paddle boarding. She also loves her yoga sessions and never misses a chance to catch up with her girlfriends.
One of Annie’s proudest moments was using the Covid downtime to study and become a Celebrant. A little secret? She officiates both life celebrations and weddings!
Annie grew up in Brighton and proudly wears the hat of ‘Nannie Annie’, a role she deeply cherishes. Her hobbies include golf, paddle boarding, embarking on girls’ weekend getaways, and family holidays.

Keegan, our Course Superintendent at The Sands Torquay, boasts a dynamic 16-year journey in the turf industry. His professional odyssey has crossed the shores of Australia, America, England, and the UAE, punctuated by hosting prestigious international tournaments.
Inspired by his affection for nature and sports, Keegan delved into the world of turf. The vast greens and meticulous fairways resonated with his fervor. His connection with The Sands Torquay is profound; while the picturesque beachside setting captivates, it’s the dedicated team that stands out. Together, they work relentlessly, uplifting the property’s aesthetics and functionality daily.
Among Keegan’s diverse tastes, the film “Braveheart” holds a special place. Outside his role, he commits to fitness through regular gymming, swimming, and running. A personal milestone that warms his heart is the birth of his son, Oliver.
Growing up in Sunbury shaped Keegan’s perspectives. His undying passion for the turf sector manifests in his zeal to provide unparalleled playing surfaces throughout the year. A testament to his adventurous spirit is his trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. Off-duty, Keegan’s joys are simple yet profound: watching AFL, attempting to refine his golf skills, or cherishing moments with family and friends. Indeed, for him, the essence of life lies in these shared memories and connections.
Meet our Property Maintenance Manager | Wayde Chaproniere
At The Sands Torquay, Wayde reigns supreme in property maintenance. Starting with a local council, the allure of ski hills took him on an eight-year adventure amidst snowy vistas. Eventually, the surf coast called, where he sharpened his skills at holiday parks and hotels.
Why property maintenance for Wayde? The thrill lies in its diverse challenges and the plethora of skills it demands. At The Sands Torquay, he cherishes the bonds with his colleagues and the unbeatable food.
Wayde has a penchant for Tarantino films. Away from work, he’s captivated by disco tunes from 1974 to 1979, doubling as a music producer. Among all his joys, his daughter is the crowning jewel. A Gippsland native, Wayde holds his friends and family close to heart.
Interestingly, Wayde can sew—a talent few are privy to. Leisurely, he takes to skateboarding, valuing injury-free rides. His perfect day? Skating, indulging in music, and unwinding with friends. Thanks to Wayde’s diligence, The Sands Torquay’s maintenance stands second to none.
