Description

Wairakei Primary School, Taupō. Full-time, fixed-term for the 2027 school year, covering parental leave. Starts Wednesday, January 27, 2027.

One school year. Colleagues who share the load.

Wairakei Primary School, Taupō, needs a full-time classroom teacher for the whole of 2027, covering parental leave. The position starts on Wednesday, January 27, 2027 and ends on Tuesday, January 25, 2028.

The year level is settled once the school’s structure for 2027 is confirmed, which means your strengths help decide where you land. Say in your cover letter what you teach best.

Expect the same backing as anyone on a permanent contract. Induction into how the school works, structured literacy in practice and professional learning are all part of the year. Leaders here would rather you asked the question than guessed.

Students here are known by name, whānau know the staff, and teachers get out on the field. Te reo and tikanga Māori are part of ordinary classroom life, guided by the POWER values — Pride, Opportunity, Whānau, Excellence, Respect.

If a year at a rural school just north of Taupō suits where you are right now, apply.
