Front of House All-Rounder | The Fat Duck Restaurant – Te Anau

The Fat Duck Restaurant is an award-winning gastropub located in beautiful Te Anau, on the edge of Fiordland National Park. With world-class outdoor adventures and the lake right on our doorstep, this is a unique opportunity to live and work in one of New Zealand’s most stunning regions — just a short drive from Queenstown and Invercargill.

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Front of House All-Rounder who thrives in a fast-paced environment, genuinely enjoys engaging with guests, and wants to be part of a supportive, high-performing team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Delivering exceptional, personable service that keeps guests coming back
• Working across both floor and bar (with a focus on floor service)
• Supporting junior team members and contributing to a positive team environment
• Using our digital systems for day-to-day operations
• Assisting with restaurant setup, bookings, and guest flow
• Contributing to weekly team meetings and business discussions (we operate an Open Book Management model)

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in a busy hospitality environment
• A warm, confident personality and genuine love of customer service
• Ability to stay calm and efficient during peak periods
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow systems and procedures

Hours:

• Dinner service only
• 6 days a week in winter, 7 days in summer
• Includes weekends and a mix of opening and closing shifts

Please note: Applicants must currently be in New Zealand with a valid open work visa. Sponsorship is not available. This is a permanent full-time position, and not suitable for backpackers or those on Working Holiday Visa’s.
