Description

Front of House Team Members – Summer | Te Anau

The Fat Duck Restaurant is a popular, award-winning gastropub in Te Anau, on the doorstep of stunning Fiordland National Park. With world-class outdoor activities (and a pretty spectacular lake) just outside, it’s a great place to spend the summer.

We’re looking for Front of House Team Members to join us for the summer. We have full-time, part-time and fixed-term positions available through until the end of April, with the possibility of permanent positions for the right people.

We’re looking for people who can keep up with a busy restaurant, know how to make customers smile and, most importantly, want to be part of a great team.

We take our work seriously, but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy ourselves along the way. We believe in working hard, working smart and creating a workplace where people can learn, develop and enjoy coming to work.

What we offer

  • Great remuneration, including weekly performance bonuses when targets are met
  • Full training in our service standards and systems
  • Opportunities to learn, develop and progress
  • Strong systems and the latest hospitality technology
  • A professional, supportive and encouraging workplace
  • Assistance finding accommodation in Te Anau if needed
  • Dinner service only – we currently operate Tuesday to Sunday from 4.30pm, increasing to seven days from November – May.

Who we’re looking for

Personality is key. We want someone who:

  • Genuinely enjoys talking to people and goes the extra mile to make customers happy
  • Can think on their feet and keep up with a busy summer service
  • Is a great team player with a positive attitude
  • Is happy learning and using digital hospitality systems
  • Is available for opening and closing shifts and weekends
  • Is available to start either September/October or November, and available through until April.

You don’t need to know everything when you arrive – we’ll train you in our service systems. What matters to us is your attitude, personality and willingness to learn.

The role

You’ll be part of our Front of House team, providing a high level of service while making sure our customers feel genuinely welcome. For us, great hospitality isn’t just about technically good service. We want our team to take the time to chat with our customers, get to know them and make their experience memorable. Our hospitality is a big part of what makes The Fat Duck what it is.

You’ll also use our digital systems and apps as part of the restaurant’s daily and weekly operations, with full training provided.

If you love working with people, enjoy being part of a busy team and want to spend the summer in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: Applicants must currently be in New Zealand and already have the right to work in New Zealand. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for these positions.
