The Herne Bay Collector is located adjacent to the Waitematā Harbour, the new infrastructure will significantly reduce wastewater and stormwater overflows into the environment. The project consists of a 1.7km-long, 2.1m-diameter wastewater tunnel, seven main shafts, three intermediate shafts, overflow connections to existing engineered overflow points, and a control chamber at Pt Erin Park in Auckland. This chamber will connect the Herne Bay Collector into the Central Interceptor system, forming part of Auckland’s wider wastewater network.

About the role:

The Social Responsibility Coordinator role is an onsite position at the Herne Bay Collector construction project in Auckland, focusing on community engagement, environmental monitoring and team support. This is a 6 month fixed term contract.

• Assist the team to build and maintain relationships with local neigbourhoods and community groups
• Assist with the development and delivery of stakeholder communications, including notices and correspondence
• Assist with environmental monitoring, including noise and vibration monitoring
• Provide administrative, technical, and organisational support to the team
• Coordinate and assist with community events

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Communications or equivalent experience
• A confident communicator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Customer facing experience; construction sector experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• You will have a full NZ Drivers license
• Flexible to work on occasions at community events
