About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

This is a Wellington-based role, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available.

Engineering affects every part of life in Aotearoa, and this role helps tell that story. As our Marketing Manager, you’ll lead the team responsible for bringing engineering to life through meaningful marketing, engaging member experiences and a strong, trusted brand. You’ll connect our organisational ambitions with the needs of our members and audiences, helping ensure our marketing delivers real impact.

You’ll:

  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic marketing initiatives that support our organisational goals.
  • Inspire and empower a high-performing marketing  team.
  • Champion and evolve Engineering New Zealand’s recently refreshed brand across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Use audience insights, member feedback and data to continuously improve engagement and effectiveness.
  • Help shape experiences that strengthen connections with our members and grow the value we provide.

Who we’re looking for | Tā mātou e kimi nei

You’re a strategic thinker, an experienced people leader and someone who genuinely enjoys helping others succeed. You know how to bring people together around a shared goal and turn ideas into meaningful outcomes.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience leading marketing strategy and delivering results in a complex or multi-stakeholder environment
  • A collaborative leadership style that builds trust, capability and confidence in others
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence and connect with a wide range of audiences
  • Curiosity, creativity and a growth mindset, alongside the confidence to challenge the status quo when needed
  • A passion for creating engaging experiences and building strong, lasting connections with customers, members or communities

You’ll be organised, adaptable and comfortable prioritising work across a busy portfolio. You’ll also bring experience managing budgets and working with marketing technology such as customer relationship management, content management, email and project management systems.

We want to hear from you if you think you can bring value to the role, not because you tick every box. We want to hear about your ideas, experience and what you’ll bring to deliver on our ambitions.
