🌟 We’re Hiring: Media Analyst 🌟
Love unravelling data, storytelling through insights, and shaping how organisations understand their media impact? This role is your chance to dive into the heart of media analysis, working remotely with some of Australia and New Zealand’s biggest brands and senior communications leaders.
About the role
As a Media Analyst in our Insights team, you’ll transform Australian and New Zealand media coverage into powerful reports that inform strategy, measure performance, and often get presented to C-suite and Board members. This is a fully remote role, working closely with our Sydney-based team and supporting some of ANZ’s most recognisable organisations.
These reports are a premium, highly bespoke part of what we offer clients, helping them make sharper decisions about their PR and communications strategy. You’ll be hands-on across the full reporting process: from designing queries and crunching data, to writing executive-ready commentary and delivering standout charts.
A snapshot of what our Media Analysts do:
- Analysing Australian and New Zealand media coverage for sentiment, themes, and trends.
- Writing Boolean queries to refine data searches and build reports.
- Creating clean, design-led charts and data visualisations.
- Identifying and writing key findings, insights, and executive summaries.
- Owning a portfolio of client reports (monthly, quarterly, or bespoke).
- Supporting account managers and, over time, presenting insights directly to clients.
- Training and mentoring new team members as you grow.
- Collaborating with our Engineering, Product, and Sales teams across time zones.
About you
This role suits someone inquisitive, detail-oriented, and genuinely energised by media and current affairs – even media from the other side of the world. You’ll need sharp analytical thinking paired with clear, engaging writing, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, client-focused environment – all while working remotely with a Sydney-based team.
What we’re looking for:
- A degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in media analysis, communications, or insights.
- A genuine, well-developed understanding of the Australian and/or New Zealand media landscape – you’ll need to know it as well as a local would.
- Great with data and detail, with the ability to draw conclusions from trends, not just spot them.
- Clear, concise writing for an executive audience – every word needs to earn its place.
- Comfortable working core hours that overlap with the Sydney business day.
- Reliable home setup: stable internet and a quiet, professional working environment.
Bonus points if you’re confident with:
- Google Suite, Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), PowerPoint.
- Boolean search logic (a big plus!).
- Designing graphs and editing reports with a sharp eye for how data should be displayed.
- Presenting insights to senior stakeholders.
✨ We’re building a team with varied strengths and backgrounds, so please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet all the skills above. Whether you’re early in your journey or bring deeper experience, we’d love to hear what you can bring to the Streem team. ✨
