As we continue to grow, we are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead Naumi Hotel Singapore into its next chapter of success and shape the future of one of Singapore’s most distinctive boutique hotels.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Group Chief Operating Officer, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance and a high-performing team culture. You will oversee all aspects of hotel operations,
partner closely with the regional leadership team to execute business strategies, drive commercial growth and develop future leaders. Success in this role requires a commercially astute, people-focused leader who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about delivering operational excellence and sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Planning
- Lead the development of the annual business plan and budget in conjunction with Director of Operations and Finance team
- Set clear strategic direction aligned to corporate objectives; communicate strategy to all department heads
- Maintain strategic overview of all revenue opportunities (rooms, F&B, events, ancillary services)
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities; identify new business potential
- Work with Group Revenue Manager on pricing strategy, rate positioning, and revenue optimisation
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel partners, and key stakeholders
- Challenge team to achieve better guest experience scores and pursue industry recognition and awards
Operational Leadership & Coordination
- Maintain strategic oversight and ensure effective, coordinated operation of all hotel departments
- Chair daily operational and management meetings; ensure effective communication and alignment
- Conduct regular property inspections; monitor guest feedback and service standards
- Champion high service standards; provide feedback to department heads; assist departments during peak service
- Respond to guest feedback and complaints; ensure resolution within 48 hours; use feedback data to drive improvements
- Monitor mystery shopper reports; drive improvement actions based on service audit findings
- Ensure all departments coordinate effectively and support one another; resolve inter-departmental issues
- Oversee security, maintenance and repair functions; ensure asset protection and maintenance standards
Talent Development & People Leadership
- Recruit, interview, hire and develop high-performing Heads of Department
- Develop viable succession plans; identify and nurture emerging talent
- Conduct performance conversations and meetings in timely, efficient manner
- Provide regular feedback and coaching to department heads and team members
- Ensure all team members comply with hotel rules, policies and procedures
- Identify and develop talent; maximise capabilities of team members
- Ensure regular, relevant training is conducted (internal/external); coordinate with People & Performance team
- Create positive, values-driven culture; motivate high morale, grooming and positive attitude
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead budget preparation process; consolidate departmental budgets into complete hotel business plan
- Vet individual departmental budgets; ensure alignment to corporate business plan
- Monitor and control financial budgets and plans; discuss and implement action plans for variances
- Forecast quarterly revenues; provide regular updates and financial reports to Director of Operations
- Explain variances to budget and provide action plans to address shortfalls
- Ensure all departments achieve their budgeted targets for revenue and costs
- Monitor financial metrics including occupancy, average room rate, RevPAR, labour costs and profitability
- Implement cost-saving initiatives that maintain service excellence and team morale
Asset Management & Capital Investment
- Ensure all hotel assets are well protected and maintained to preserve long-term investment value
- Evaluate capital investment opportunities (refurbishments, purchases, replacements, repairs)
- Approve capex within governance matrix; seek appropriate approvals for major investments
- Ensure capital investments are worthwhile and necessary to maximise returns on assets
- Oversee asset enhancement activities; monitor quality and value delivery
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Hotel or hospitality management experience (minimum 7–10 years)
- General Manager or senior leadership role (minimum 3–5 years in similar capacity)
- Proven track record of achieving financial and operational targets
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills
- Demonstrated leadership capability and team development experience
- Guest service excellence background
- Knowledge of Property Management Systems and hotel technologies
- Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills
- High school graduation or equivalent; Hotel Management Degree preferred
Desirable
- Hotel Management Degree or Diploma
- Advanced financial management or MBA qualification
- Multi-unit or complex operations experience
- Experience in revenue management and strategic pricing
- Knowledge of Group Finance and Accounting practices
- Experience with Employment Hero or similar HR systems
- Training in Leadership Development or Executive Coaching
- Understanding of brand management and market positioning
