Description

Health-Driven Design for Cities (HD4) aims to investigate how Singapore’s environment shapes residents’ daily behaviours and long-term health outcomes. It will generate actionable evidence for public agencies and policymakers to improve the health and longevity of all Singaporeans.

In phase 1 of the project, we are testing new ways of measuring the factors that may influence people’s health. We are recruiting a new member to our research team to support studies aimed at measuring the environment (temperature, humidity, CO2, air pollutants) and physical behaviour using remote sensors and wearable devices.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collect, organise, and review sensor and behaviour data.
  • Evaluate device consistency, reliability, and data quality.
  • Identify missing, unusual, or inconsistent measurements.
  • Assist with field-testing; prepare clear documentation, reports, and basic visualisations.

Requirements:

  • Relevant background in environmental science, public health, engineering, data science, kinesiology, or related fields.
  • Interest in sensors, wearable devices, environmental monitoring, and health research.
  • Good knowledge of Excel, R, Python, and data-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organisation and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently on tasks, and willingness to learn new tools and concepts.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with the wider research team.
