• Manage a portfolio of Housing Association customers and be the lead contact for those relationships.

• Develop relationships with these names and have regular contact with Housing Associations, through telephone, email, 1-2-1 meetings, networking, conferences, AGMs etc.

• Ensure that contact with relevant customers is maintained to generate future sales leads. Keep and maintain thorough records from customer meetings that can provide regular and consistent feedback to monitor and understand new business opportunities, which summarise the key points arising follow up of any agreed.

• Continue cultivation of contacts within sector – regulator, other lenders, funding advisors, solicitors, and valuers and ensure awareness and understanding of technical issues affecting the sector.

• Where relevant, analyse and respond to funding tenders and other ad-hoc business propositions brought to THFC.

• The preparation and presentation of reports to the Executive Credit & Issuance Committee for new lending proposals, and as appropriate for alteration to covenants and other credit matters relating to customers.

• Manage the process of product proposal through to execution working closely with the Treasury team. Responsibility for producing mandate letter and liaising with lawyers to produce loan documentation.

• Ensure appropriate due diligence has been undertaken prior to completion of drawdown of loans.

• Propose borrowers that require closer monitoring by inclusion on the watch-list and reporting quarterly to Executive Credit & Issuance Committee. In conjunction with the Head of Credit Risk, progress problem cases towards resolution. Keep an expert eye on those that are presenting weaker performance.

• Analyse data received from customers in the form of management information, financial returns, and business plans to monitor and report on trends and emerging risks.

• The preparation and presentation of requests for consent to mergers, changes to key loan covenants which should include an appropriate analysis of risks and negotiation of relevant fees.

• Review compliance with covenants, obtain information in a timely manner and ensure it is recorded correctly.

• Respond to customer queries across a wide range of topics and where necessary, deal with requests for letters of consent / certificates of non-crystallisation.

• Respond to customer consultations arising from evolving issues in the sector.

• Oversee preparation of compliance information such as Anti-Money Laundering Know Your Customer.

• Work in close conjunction with the Head of Relationship Management and Senior Director - Lending to develop relevant, customer specific marketing material.

• Undertake any other duties which are commensurate with the tasks set out above, and which are appropriate to the Post Holder and to work as part of the team

• Sound business judgement with the ability to identify key opportunities and risks.

• Knowledge of the funding requirements of the Housing Association sector.

• It is important that the Post Holder is aware of, and can discuss with customers, technical aspects of products, including (non-exhaustively) interest rate and liquidity risk, credit risk, legal structure, valuation techniques.
